Rococo Jewellery

The Artist

This section contains a bit about me and my influences. A few people have emailed to ask questions about me and how I learnt to make jewellery so I hope this section will satisfy some of those queries.

I live in south London and I made my first piece of jewellery three years ago for a friend's birthday and am completely self-taught. I learnt about jewellery-making entirely by trial and error and after a period spent developing my work by making gifts for friends and family, I finally launched Rococo Jewellery at the start of 2008.

I'm influenced by everything around me. I love music, flowers and nature so they play a big part in my designs.

Vivid colours and vivid people also inspire my creations.

I'm also interested in the healing power of crystals and try to incorporate gemstones wherever possible. My Thai Hill Tribe silver comes from the Shiana tribe who make the most beautiful silver beads and pendants I have ever seen!

Sometimes my designs come to me in dreams and I'll wake from my sleep having dreamt of nothing but beads! On other occasions, I'll sit down with my beads and pendants and then the piece will just come together as I work. Either way, the creative process is my favourite part.

I hope that's answered some of your questions but please feel free to contact me any time.
